Worbarrow Bay looking West

Worbarrow Bay looking west from Gad Cliff, Dorset, England UK. Worbarrow Bay looking west from Gad cliff, Dorset, England UK.

It exposes a sequence of Cretaceous rocks from the Chalk to the west through to the Purbeck Beds in the east, where they form the promontory known as Warbarrow Tout (out of view on left). This is arguably one of the best coastal sections of the Cretaceous in Europe.

Warbarrow Bay is only accessible when the Lulworth army firing ranges are open, when it can be reached by a 1 mile walk down an easy track from the abandoned village of Tyneham. The coastal path route via gad cliff is far more breathe taking in sense of view and walk/climb.
